I gotta say, this is working for me. I’ve invented all kinds of games and tricks to get a grip on clutter. No wait, that’s not the right way to put it, is it? In this case, I need to lose my grip. So why do I cling to my clutter? If you’re anything like me, this might sound a wee bit familiar. You love the idea so much. You’re going to tackle your messes and get rid of the stuff that’s weighing you down. But … When you actually get into it, you wrestle with letting go of perfectly OK things, or of items that you think you may need or want some day, even though you haven’t used them in months, years or decades even. A mantra flips the switch I have a new secret and it’s working wonders. It’s a simple three-word tool. “You deserve better.” I hold an item in my hand—and I face that moment of indecision. It’s fine. It’s adequate. It’s OK. I may need it in the winter of 2027. Then I say the three magic words. “You deserve better.” My grip weakens and out it goes! Why is this so freakin’ powerful? It’s not just that I deserve better than this single blouse, cheap Easter basket, hotel pen or chipped serving bowl. It’s that I deserve better in life. I deserve nice things and uncluttered closets. I deserve clarity and peace of mind. If you’re at all into manifesting, this might be your jam too. It’s about making room for new and better things to come your way. For me, I was going to call it womanifesting, but that sounds wrong. Humanifesting? Also weird. I love playing with words, but let’s not lose our grip here, Margie. OK, friends, I’ll leave you with this: YOU DESERVE BETTER. Peace out, M. P.S. What's hiding in your deep clutter?
